Play Like a Local
I designed the illustrations and branding for Play Like a Local, an event aimed at boosting tourism in Bend, Oregon during the shoulder season. The campaign featured a beautifully illustrated map highlighting the local businesses in the area. Tourists could collect stamps and prizes by getting their passport booklet stamped at these businesses and were also eligible for exclusive discounts only available to passport stamp collectors. The map was an aesthetic piece used for marketing and promotion of the event. We created a landing web page to provide additional information about the locations, to go along with the passport.
Apparel and prizes
When each section of the passport was filled with stamps, prizes were handed out at specific locations. The prizes included hats, coffee, stickers, and a tote bag with the branding of the event printed onto them.
Digital Ads
A full digital ad campaign was created to promote this event online. These were posted on the BendBulletin.com website as well as used in a Google Ad campaign, to target a broader audience that lives outside of Bend, OR.
Landing Page
A landing page was created to provide more detailed information about the
sponsoring locations in the passport.
New Logo and Menu Redesign for premium Sub shop.
“Ottis is a playful cat (kind of like Garfield, but very slender and lengthy) that's always eating Gary's subs. Gary is an older gentleman who is shorter and a little hefty with a mustache and is very basque-looking. They want it (the logo) in between hip and old-school and not too serious.”
This was the only information given to me by a client who needed a new logo and a menu redesign for a new sandwich shop. I took the description above created some sketches based on the cat, sandwiches and a man with Basque features. The client chose one of the designs and I cleaned it up, we made some changes and finalized the logo and menu design.

coffee shop brand redesign
This cafe located in downtown Bend Oregon started as a hybrid bike/ski/coffee shop.
Now under new ownership, it was time for the coffee shop to branch away from its sports shop origin and undertake a rebranding. The new owners wanted the branding to have a comfortable homelike feel where customers can gather with friends in a common meeting area after work or activities.
These are the many iterations that were created in the process.
